| AIMS AND SCOPE |
Earth and Planetary Science (EPS) is an international, gold open access journal that publishes both primary research and review papers on the study of Earth and planetary systems. Our goal is to foster research that adopts a systemic approach, addressing not only processes within individual layers of Earth and planets but also the intricate interactions and feedback mechanisms that characterize many complex planetary systems, transcending traditional disciplinary boundaries. EPS is committed to disseminating cutting-edge scientific ideas supported by robust multidisciplinary observations.
Within the Earth System Science, we welcome contributions related to various planetary layers, including the core, mantle, and crust, as well as the hydrosphere, biosphere, atmosphere, magnetosphere, and the interplay among these components. The Planetary System Science component of EPS' scope includes the study of celestial bodies beyond Earth. This encompasses planets, moons, asteroids, comets, meteoroids, dust, and exoplanetary systems. We encourage research that explores the formation, evolution, and dynamics of planetary bodies, as well as that of their environments.
The scope of Earth and Planetary Science encompasses a wide array of geoscience and planetary science disciplines, including, but not limited to:
Geology
Geophysics
Geochemistry
Tectonics and geodynamics
Paleontology, and origin and evolution of life
Processes controlling the formation of planetary resources
Climate science
Atmospheric science
Planetary sciences
Authors are encouraged to deposit the final published PDF in their institutional repositories or any suitable publication subject repositories.
Declaration:
We are committed to disseminating the latest academic research results, adhering to publishing ethics and standards, and publishing high-quality articles. We accept and welcome oversight from scholars within the research community. If you find any problems or have concerns, please contact the editorial office at eps@nassg.org. We will actively respond to your feedback and suggestions and continuously improve and enhance the quality and influence of the journal. We will reward scholars with positive suggestions. Thanks to all the scholars for their help and support.
| OPEN ACCESS POLICY |
Earth and Planetary Science (EPS) is a Gold open access journal, which makes the final version of an article freely and permanently accessible for everyone, immediately after publication. All articles published in the Journal are distributed under Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0), which means all content is freely available without charge to the user or his/her institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose (non-commercial), without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author.
Advantages of open access:
Rigorous Peer-Review Process
All submissions undergo a rigorous peer-review process, ensuring the quality and integrity of published research.
Immediate and Universal Accessibility
Published content is promptly and universally accessible online immediately after publication.
This accessibility greatly enhances the visibility and reach of research findings.
Increased Citation and Impact
Open access leads to higher citation rates and broader usage of research articles.
Free licenses encourage the reuse and adaptation of research results, expanding their influence.
